The Azzurri opened the scoring in the ninth minute. A low corner arrived from the left towards the near post, Turkey's Zeki Celik failed to clear, and the ball fell to Alessandro Bastoni in front of goal. He struck it from 10 metres out while falling, beating Altay Bayindir despite the goalkeeper's attempt to stop it.
