Several decades ago, archaeologists uncovered a 3,200-year-old tomb in central Turkey that was surrounded by a massive burial mound, one commonly referred to as the “Midas Tumulus” to this day. Alongside the Midas Tumulus, there are 130 known tumuli in Turkey’s Polatlı district, and almost 90 of them are concentrated among the ruins of the ancient city of Gordion, which served as the flourishing capital of the ancient Phrygian kingdom.
