I’m not sure if I’ve ever met someone who isn’t a fan of the delicious snack options available at Trader Joe’s. My college house last year was practically the store’s display shelves. What could be better than their soup dumplings or dark chocolate peanut butter cups to cheer you up on a bad day?
And it turns out, celebs are just like us. Blake Lively was just spotted shopping at the grocery store in Westport, Connecticut, picking up some pantry staples that our team also loves. One of the items she stocked up on is something I cannot live without.
Lively had a pretty big haul, and it’s a little hard to tell exactly what she bought. But we’re fairly certain the following three snacks were included.
One of my favorite snacks of all time just happens to be the Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips, which costs $2.99 for a 9-ounce bag. I was surprised to see Blake picking these up, but then again, what’s not to love? A lot of people refer to them as “Taki dupes,” and while they are similar I think these Trader Joe’s rolled tortilla chips are so much better. They’ve got a bit of heat from the chili powder, but the acid from the lime helps tame things down. (I feel like Takis’ flavor just isn’t as well balanced.)
I’m not alone in loving these chips either. Ali Domrongchai, a groceries editor, said these chili-coated crunchy chips are a dream. She says “they’re a little spicy with a kick of lime to balance out the heat,” and that her “fingers have been coated in the red hot dust more times than [she] can count.”
Another classic from the Trader Joe’s snack department is its Organic Popcorn with Olive Oil. It’s one of those snacks you could eat handful after handful of without even realizing you’ve almost finished the bag … I’ve definitely been there. Ali appreciates how the olive oil coating gives the snack a “nutty, savory element.”
I also love how the popcorn isn’t greasy (not that I don’t love the buttery movie theater popcorn), but it’s so easy to just snack without feeling the need to wipe your hands constantly. And, it’s a great big bag for only $2.99, another reason I love to shop at TJ’s.
For all sweet tooths out there, this pick is going to be the star of the show: Super Sour Scandinavian Swimmers. I can’t tell you how many of my friends will call this their “absolute favorite” candy. The sour coating is enough to make your lips pucker, but not so tart that you don’t want a second.
And the $4 gummies actually have flavor! I’m not sure if you’ve seen the discourse online saying gummy bears and other candy are not actually flavored and are just filled with citric acid, but these gummies taste so good! They come in a variety of sea life shapes and bright colors to just keep the fun going.
