Hi myself Anuradha , i write about what I see , experience and try to understand from my surrounding environment .
I don’t research , i just write what I think is right so please feel free to correct me if you think I am wrong .
The woman in india is either a devi / goddess or a randi . They are never seen as normal humans . Women who follow all the rules made by the society silently and stays in her limits are often seen as devi and others are not .
" Shakti " , which means power or energy is the one who created the world .
The one who gave birth to the world was a woman making her goddess( devi) . So from that context or looking at that every woman who gives life to a new life was considered a goddess, in short a devi .
The idea of being like a goddess forces women to take their decision in a certain way that it doesn’t disturb the norms made for them to follow or else they would have to feel the consequences of being called randi and many others I can’t even talk about .
The woman who worships her husband is a devi . The woman who does as society says is devi . The woman who is beautiful and covers her body and herself is a devi , etc , etc. There are so many things making women a devi , making her a woman that should be respected and protected by the society and people of society .
The women who are devi will be protected, provided , loved , and would be given permission to love others but ,
what about women who couldn’t get themselves into a box of norms created by society . What about women who want to step out of the box made by society , what about women who couldn’t give birth? What about the woman trying to step out of the box of norms willingly or unwillingly doesn’t matter . Society calls them Randi ( sex workers / slut ) .
These woman who are abused , raped thinking she would never get pregnant so no one would know even if they know it doesn’t matter because for them that’s what she deserves .
Just because she took her own decision as a human being instead of making sure she stays in her own limit , she was called the enemy of God . The one that brings bad luck , misery and death instead of good luck , happiness .
The concept of calling women devi was and it is ruining the life of so many women that no one knew about and no body talks about .
But now they have to .
We are not goddesses . We are human beings and we make mistakes and take decisions regarding our own life and it doesn’t make us randi .
What do you think about it? Is being called a goddess good or worse?
