Masechaba Mposwa Steps Away From Newzroom Afrika Role

Radio and TV broadcaster Masechaba Mposwa has announced that she has stepped down from her role as the news anchor for the Weekend Report on Newzroom Afrika.
The media personality shared the news with her followers on Instagram through an official statement. In the message, she confirmed that she had decided to leave her position with immediate effect.
She wrote, “Dear all, I have decided to step away from my role as anchor of the Weekend Report on Newzroom Afrika with immediate effect. To every viewer & to my supporters who woke up with me from 6am every Saturday & Sunday, thank you for making this show the success that it is.”
Mposwa joined Newzroom Afrika in March 2024 as the new Weekend Report anchor. She became part of the newsroom team to co-host the weekend breakfast show, the Weekend Report, which is broadcast on DStv channel 405.
At the time of joining the channel, she shared her excitement about the opportunity.
“I am happy to announce that I have joined the Newzroom Afrika team,” she wrote.
Mposwa has built a long and diverse career in the media industry. Over the years, she has worked as a producer, journalist and media personality for several major broadcasters. Her experience includes working with e.tv, eNCA and Power FM.
She has also hosted several programmes on the South African Broadcasting Corporation. Some of the shows she has hosted include One Day Leader on SABC 1, the political documentary series Why Are We So Angry, Weekend Live on SABC 2, and The Big Break Legacy on SABC 3.
