It’s unfortunate that parents have to live through their children’s teenage years. Think about it. For the first 10 or 11 years of childhood, children tend to be loving and caring, and enjoy spending time with their parents. Sure, they may throw temper tantrums at times when they don’t get their way, and may be unreasonable, but for the most part, they fit in nicely with their families. Parents feel cared for, and children feel the same. It’s a symmetry that generally works for the parent and child.
