South Africa’s Investment Attractiveness Index rose in 2025

South Africa’s Investment Attractiveness Index (IAI) in mining rose by 11.85 points in 2025. This meant it improved its rank from 68th of 82 jurisdictions in 2024 to 57th of 68 in 2025. However, in terms of policy, South Africa ranks near the bottom and is placed 64th out of 68. Botswana was the top ranked African country.
