Camps Bay High erupts as Erin Phelan steals the show with a rock-star guitar performance at the Class of 2025 Valedictory.
Cape Town, South Africa (09 December 2025) – Camps Bay High School wrapped up its 2025 Valedictory with an unforgettable performance from one of the learners, Erin Phelan, who casually turned the school hall into a mini rock concert.
In a video posted by the school, Erin takes to the front of the hall with an electric guitar and launches into the iconic riff of “You Give Love a Bad Name” by Bon Jovi.
The video has over a million views on Facebook and more than three million on Instagram. We see her schoolmates cheering her on with rhythmic clapping, and she is completely swept up in that energy.
Even though the caption joked that she was “shredding like it’s no big deal,” it was clear to everyone watching that this was something special.
It’s evident that talent thrives in the corridors of Camps Bay High School; Erin Phelan certainly made the point.
