Having visited the North East of England for many years, we have always held a deep affection for this largely overlooked corner of the British coastline. Historically marketed as “The Secret Kingdom”, Northumberland remains a region that is surprisingly undiscovered by much of the UK population. In many ways, that quiet solitude is precisely where its magic lies — particularly when visiting during the shoulder seasons, when wide-open beaches, crisp coastal air, and atmospheric historic sites can be enjoyed in relative tranquility.
