THE FUSE

The Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA) has taken another step towards supporting agricultural development by hosting a practical hemp seed planting demonstration at Honeydale Farm in kuGompo City, within the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. Held under favourable weather conditions, the demonstration brought farmers together to learn about hemp cultivation and gain practical experience in planting hemp seeds. The initiative was organised by ECRDA in collaboration with an offtaker, providing participants with an opportunity to understand planting techniques and apply their knowledge in a farm setting. Farmers took part in the planting process, asked questions and gained experience that could help them approach hemp production with greater confidence. The demonstration reflects ECRDA’s commitment to supporting farmers and exploring opportunities within the Eastern Cape’s emerging hemp industry.
