In the midst of escalating protests spreading across India, a clarion call for solidarity has emerged among distressed citizens, particularly the youth of this country. The call is to build solidarity independently of political parties and associations and to move forward collectively to challenge a system that citizens believe has deceived them regarding the electoral process. Questions have been raised about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) being conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI), particularly concerning the possibility of eligible citizens being excluded from electoral rolls. For some, the issue raises serious concerns about the protection of the right to vote under Article 326 of the Constitution and allegations of manipulation of electoral data.
