After travelling across South Africa, content creators Josh and Ruthie Betts share the coastal hideaways, natural wonders and bush escapes they simply can’t stop thinking about.

South Africa (04 March 2026) – When you’ve travelled across South Africa as much as Josh and Ruthie Betts have, it takes something special to linger in your memory. But in their latest reel, the content-creating couple admit that no matter how many places they tick off their list, a few destinations keep calling them back.

First on their list is Sardinia Bay, just outside Gqeberha. Known for its unspoilt shoreline, dramatic dunes and wide-open ocean views, it’s the kind of beach that feels untouched and peaceful. While many travellers automatically think of Durban or Cape Town for coastal getaways, Sardinia Bay offers something quieter.

Then there’s the geological masterpiece that is Bourke’s Luck Potholes in Graskop. Beautiful natural sculptures that are part science, part art but incredibly mind blowing.

For more coastal magic, the pair highlight Gericke’s Point in Sedgefield. With its rugged rock formations, this is a dream for slow explorers.

And when it’s time to swap sea for some bushveld calm, Summerplace Game Reserve near Vaalwater delivers. Nestled in the Waterberg region, this reserve offers classic safari landscapes.

From wild coastlines to ancient rock formations and peaceful bush escapes, Josh and Ruthie’s picks are a reminder of South Africa’s hidden gems.

This is arguably proof that the next place you fall in love with might not be the loudest, but just the most unexpected.
