South Africa delivered a masterclass in Ahmedabad, outclassing defending champions India by 76 runs in their ICC T20 World Cup super eight clash.

After opting to bat, the Proteas rebounded from 20‑3 to post 187‑7, thanks to David Miller’s blistering 63 off 35 balls and Dewald Brevis’ 45 from 29.

Miller and Brevis added 97 for the fourth wicket, while Tristan Stubbs’s unbeaten 44 off 24 provided a late flourish.

Jasprit Bumrah’s 3‑15 and Arshdeep Singh’s 2‑28 kept India in the game, but costly no‑balls and dropped catches allowed South Africa to accelerate.

In reply, India’s chase never recovered.

Aiden Markram’s opening over saw Ishan Kishan slice to point, and Marco Jansen (4‑22) and Corbin Bosch (2‑12) ripped through the order.

Keshav Maharaj’s three‑wicket burst, all caught by Stubbs at long‑on, sealed a collapse to 51‑5. India were bowled out for 111 in 18.5 overs, handing South Africa a commanding win and a strong step toward the semi-finals.

India must now beat both Zimbabwe and West Indies plus rely on the Proteas to avoid a defeat if they are to make the last four.

In Group 2, England currently lead the pack after their victory over Sri Lanka. Pakistan and New Zealand, who shared the points after their abandoned clash, occupy second and third spot respectively.
