TV presenter Ntombee Ngcobo has shared her disappointment after missing her mother’s birthday celebration because she could not catch her flight home. The TV star said she had planned everything so she could celebrate the special day with her family, but things did not go as expected.
Ntombee explained that she and her family were supposed to fly home after the games they attended. However, she said they were told their FlySafair flight had been delayed for more than three hours, making it impossible for them to arrive in time for the birthday celebration.
She shared her frustration on social media and wrote:
“Yaze yasenza | @flysafairza
The plan was to be home as soon as the games were done so we could celebrate our queen, but when we arrived at the airport, we were told our flight had been delayed by more than 3 hours. IMAGINE!
She then shared a touching birthday message for her mother.
“Mama @mamngcobo, we hope you’ve had the most beautiful and blessed birthday. It breaks our hearts that we won’t make it back in time to celebrate with you today, but the distance doesn’t change how we feel about you.
Thank you for being our greatest blessing, our biggest supporter, and the heart of our family. We pray that God continues to cover you with His grace, bless you with good health, overflowing joy, and many more wonderful years.
We love you beyond words, Mama weSizwe. Ngicela sithi Happy Birthday! (Please let’s all say Happy Birthday!)”
Although they could not be there in person, Ntombee made sure her mother knew how much she is loved and appreciated. Her heartfelt message showed the strong bond they share as a family.
In a previous post, Ntombee shared how important family support is. She revealed that she had travelled to KuGompo (Gqeberha) to support her daughter, Nomvelo Mzolo, who was playing hockey at the Winter Sports Schools Championships.
She wrote:
“Making our way to KuGompo to support our Team Gauteng Captain @originalnomnom, at the Winter Sports Schools Championships.
I have no doubt that one of the biggest reasons behind Nom Nom’s dedication, hard work, and success is the unwavering support we give her as a family. Life doesn’t always allow us to attend every training session or every match, but she knows that whether we’re there physically, emotionally or just cheering her on from afar, supporting her is always our number one priority.
To all parents, I want to encourage you to support your children and show up for them whenever you can. Your presence, your encouragement, and your belief in them can make all the difference. Sometimes, simply knowing that someone is in their corner gives them the confidence to dream bigger, work harder, and face the world with courage.
Let’s continue raising children who know they are loved, supported, and never alone.”
