South African bar sales fell for tenth consecutive month

South African bar sales at restaurants, takeaways and catering services fell for the tenth consecutive month in March 2026. This is in inflation adjusted terms and the decline was 8.9% year-on-year. This followed a 6.8% year-on-year drop in February. In January there was a 15.9% year-on-year plunge.
