Orlando Pirates begin the defence of their Betway Premiership title this weekend when they host newly promoted Milford FC, with expectations high for a winning start at home.
Following an encouraging pre-season under new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Buccaneers will be eager to build on last season’s success.
With nine new signings added to the squad, Pirates are expected to have a fresh look while maintaining the winning mentality that saw them lift the league trophy.

Goalkeeper: Sipho Chaine
There is little doubt that Sipho Chaine will retain his place as Pirates’ first-choice goalkeeper after another consistent campaign.
Defence: Kamohelo Sebelebele, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Lebone Seema, Neo Rapoo.
New signing Kamohelo Sebelebele is tipped to start at right-back, while captain Nkosinathi Sibisi is expected to partner Lebone Seema in central defence.
On the left, Neo Rapoo could be preferred ahead of Nkosikhona Ndaba and the experienced Deon Hotto.
Midfield: Camren Dansin, Thalente Mbatha
Young midfielder Camren Dansin could be handed a surprise start after impressing during Orlando Pirates’ pre-season tour of Spain. Thalente Mbatha is likely to provide the balance alongside him in the middle of the park.
Attack: Bohlale Ngwato, Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi
Oswin Appollis is expected to operate in a free attacking role behind the striker, with Tshepang Moremi providing pace from the left wing. New arrival Bohlale Ngwato could earn his debut on the right flank.
Striker: Boitumelo Radiopane
Radiopane is backed to lead the line as Pirates look to begin their title defence with a convincing victory in front of their home supporters.
