Nice Earns UNESCO Tsunami Ready Recognition as Local Tsunamis Leave Minutes, Not Hours

The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO has recognized the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolitan area as Tsunami Ready, in the Tsunami Ready recognition announcement from UNESCO's Oceanographic Commission dated June 12. It is the first metropolitan-scale implementation of the programme in France, covering six coastal municipalities: Nice, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Eze.
