THE FUSE

On 26 June 2026, the Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA) continued its structured stakeholder engagement programme as preparations intensified to fully restore operations at the Mbizana RED Hub in the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality. The engagement formed part of a wider effort to revive key rural infrastructure that supports agricultural development, local enterprise growth and job creation. It brought together traditional leadership, municipal representatives and cooperative members to align expectations ahead of the facility’s reopening. The process focused on building trust, improving communication and ensuring that all stakeholders understand the operational direction of the hub. It also highlighted the importance of inclusive planning in rural development projects.
