(The Post News) – Tanzanian police are investigating the death of American media influencer Ashly Robinson in Zanzibar. According to media reports, Robinson, also known as Ashlee Jenae on social media, died after allegedly attempting suicide.

She was found unconscious at a villa in Zanzibar, a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of East Africa. The 31-year-old content creator was on vacation to celebrate her birthday with her fiancé, who is a Portland businessman.

NBC News reported that Robinson and her fiance had travelled to Zanzibar on 4 April. She was rushed to the hospital from the Zuri Zanzibar hotel on 8 April. According to the police, she died the following day on 9 April. The hotel expressed its sincerest sympathies, saying its thoughts are with the family and loved ones during this painful time. “We are providing our full cooperation to the local authorities and the U.S. Embassy,” said the hotel in a statement.

Family in Shock Over Ashly Robinson’s Sudden Death

Robinson’s family said they are devastated by her sudden death. “Nothing about this loss feels real. One moment she was celebrating love, and the next, she was gone. Although we have many questions, we are placing our trust in the officials in Zanzibar and are working closely with them as we seek clarity and answers,” the family said in a statement.

Robinson has been described by her family as someone who was vibrant and full of life. “The sadness, the unanswered questions, and the distance from home have made this tragedy even more overwhelming,” added the family. The investigation is ongoing. Police said Robinson’s fiance is still being questioned, and his passport has been suspended.
