The Smallholder Horticulture Empowerment and Promotion (SHEP) Training of Trainers workshop is currently underway for the Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture. This workshop is designed to build the capacity of departmental officials and ensure consistent understanding of the SHEP approach. Participants are being trained on key tools, reporting requirements, and the expected outcomes of the programme. The session aims to equip officials with the skills necessary to guide smallholder farmers effectively. By aligning all trainers with a common framework, the workshop lays the groundwork for coordinated, market-oriented agricultural development across the province.
