Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo Breaks Silence on Marriage Rumours

Media personality and actress Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo has subtly responded to reports claiming that there is trouble in paradise in her second marriage. The star, who is known for keeping her private life out of the spotlight, reacted shortly after rumours about her relationship began circulating online and in local tabloids.

Thembisa took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her thoughts after the reports surfaced. In a short but strong post, she wrote: “That’s literally the dumbest thing I’ve ever read…” The tweet quickly caught the attention of fans and social media users, many of whom interpreted it as her response to the claims about her marriage.

The reports emerged after Daily Sun published a story alleging that Thembisa and her husband, Abie, had ended their marriage. According to the publication, the couple had spent several months trying to resolve their differences and fix their relationship. However, the report claimed that despite their efforts, they eventually decided to call it quits and go their separate ways.

Abie has been popularly known as Eric Nxumalo, and Thembisa adopted his surname, using the double-barrelled surname Mdoda-Nxumalo. It remains unclear why Abie chose to hide his real identity, which has also sparked curiosity and speculation among the public.

According to Daily Sun, sources close to the estranged couple have alleged that Abie moved out of their marital home in Fourways, north of Johannesburg, sometime in 2024. The same sources claim that he is now staying in an apartment in Northcliff, also in the northern parts of Jozi. It has further been alleged that Thembisa, who previously presented the popular television show Our Perfect Wedding, has remained in their marital home with their children.

Adding more fuel to the speculation, Thembisa later shared pictures of clear blue skies, champagne bottles, and sunny weather on her X account (Formerly Twitter). While she did not explain the meaning behind the posts, many followers saw them as a sign that she is unbothered by the rumours or choosing peace amid the noise.
