Transfer report: Three more Kaizer Chiefs players move to Cape Town

The move will give the Kaizer Chiefs trio an opportunity to secure regular first-team football. It would also allow Amakhosi to monitor their development while they gain valuable senior experience.

According to iDiski Times journalist Sinethemba Makonco, Naledi Hlongwane, Samkelo Zwane and Bontle Molefe are set to join newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship side Hope FC on loan.

KAIZER CHIEFS SEND TRIO SOUTH

Zwane, the 24-year-old central and defensive midfielder officially joined the Kaizer Chiefs first team in January 2023.

He is known for his impressive long-distance passing. His father, Eugene Zwane, helped nurture that quality from a young age during his development.

Zwane has made sporadic appearances in the Betway Premiership since breaking into the senior team. However, he has not managed to establish himself as a regular starter, including the loan spell at Siwelele.

Another loan move would now give him the chance to play consistently and build his senior career.

GAME TIME IN THE MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP

Hlongwane the versatile striker, made his breakthrough through the DStv Diski Challenge, where his performances earned him wider recognition.

The attacker was voted into the Carling Black Label All-Stars final team. He then helped his side win the Carling Cup, which caught the attention of the Kaizer Chiefs first-team selectors.

That success led to his integration into the senior squad. A move to Hope FC would now give Hlongwane another opportunity to gain regular senior minutes.

Molefe, the 1.90-metre goalkeeper, spent most of his development within the Kaizer Chiefs system. He earned his first senior contract at just 16 years old.

Molefe has earned praise for his excellent reflexes and has drawn comparisons with Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune. However, competition for a first-team place and a serious wrist injury slowed his progress.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper moved to Leicesterford City on loan in early 2026 to gain regular professional football. He could now make another temporary move, with Hope FC reportedly set to become his next destination.

For Hlongwane, Zwane and Molefe, the move is about one thing: playing regularly. For Kaizer Chiefs, it is another opportunity to develop three players who still have a future at the club.
