South African media personality and TV presenter Minnie Dlamini has added another achievement to her growing career after winning an award at the 2026 Basadi in Music Awards.

Minnie Dlamini was named Entertainment TV Producer of the Year at the prestigious awards, which took place on August 7 and August 8, 2026, at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The win recognises her work behind the scenes as a producer of Club Bangers, a music show on Channel O that premiered in April 2025.

While Minnie is widely known for her work in front of the camera, her role as a producer has allowed her to explore another side of the entertainment industry and showcase her creativity beyond television presenting.

Announcing her as the winner on social media, the Basadi in Music Awards shared the reason they believed she deserved the recognition.

“Vision, creativity, and excellence deserve to be celebrated. Congratulations to Minnie Dlamini, winner of Entertainment TV Producer of the Year at the Basadi in Music Awards 2026. Your leadership behind the camera continues to shape South African television.”

Minnie was clearly grateful for the recognition and celebrated the achievement by sharing beautiful photos from the awards ceremony, including moments of herself on stage with her trophy.

Reflecting on the meaning behind the award, she opened up about how much the achievement meant to her and how producing has allowed her to grow throughout her career.

For so much of my career, you’ve known me in front of the camera. But producing has allowed me to expand beyond what I do, into who I am a storyteller, a creator, a builder, a leader, and a woman determined to create spaces and opportunities for stories that deserve to be told.

This award feels like recognition of that evolution. Of the years of learning, building, risking, creating, failing, trying again and believing that there was so much more for me to contribute to this industry.

I’m deeply grateful to every person who has trusted my vision, worked alongside me, challenged me and allowed me to grow.
