Maybe it’s that the trend turns motherhood into a personality type or maybe it’s that the version of boyhood so exalted in these posts is constricted and formulaic.
As the mother of a boy, I would much rather just allow him (and his sisters) to develop their own little personalities over projecting an archaic set of stereotypes about boyhood onto him BUT maybe I’ve read the trend all wrong?
