These three Orlando Pirates players impressed on Saturday

The trio played key roles as Orlando Pirates delivered an encouraging display to begin the new season on a high.

The Buccaneers made the perfect start to their 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign after defeating Milford 2-0 on Saturday. The defending champions controlled large periods of the contest, producing a mature and disciplined performance that showcased both their quality and squad depth.

CEMREN DANSIN LEADS THE WAY

While the Buccaneers impressed as a collective, Cemren Dansin, Tshepang Moremi and Kebelo Kgositsile stood out. Their individual displays provided plenty of encouragement for Abdeslam Ouaddou as Orlando Pirates look to defend their league crown.

Cemren Dansin produced a commanding display in the heart of midfield, earning the Man of the Match award after controlling proceedings from the opening whistle. Operating as the holding midfielder, he constantly broke up attacks, recycled possession and dictated the tempo with intelligent positioning and accurate passing.

His calmness on the ball allowed Orlando Pirates to dominate possession and launch quick attacking moves whenever opportunities presented themselves. It was another reminder of why the midfielder is becoming such an influential figure in the Buccaneers’ engine room.

Further forward, Tshepang Moremi once again showed his importance by putting the result beyond doubt with a composed late finish. The attacker remained a constant threat throughout the match before capping off another impressive display with a clinical goal that secured all three points.

KEBELO KGOSITSILE EXCITES ORLANDO PIRATES SUPPORTERS

One of the biggest talking points of the afternoon was the senior debut of Kebelo Kgositsile, who immediately caught the eye after coming off the bench. The exciting youngster brought fresh energy to the attack and played with the confidence of a far more experienced player.

Kgositsile repeatedly took on defenders with pace and purpose, while his close control and direct running created problems for the Milford defence. Although he did not find the back of the net, his lively cameo gave Orlando Pirates supporters every reason to be excited about what he could offer this season.

With Dansin controlling the midfield, Moremi delivering the finishing touch and Kgositsile announcing himself in style, Orlando Pirates could hardly have asked for a better start to their Betway Premiership title defence.
