Every few months, like clockwork, a video floats across my timeline featuring a white person interviewing another white person about racism, Christianity, or — if they're feeling courageous — both at once. The interviewer sits there nodding, eyes wide, jaw slack, as though they've just discovered gravity or lactose intolerance.
And inevitably, the big revelation drops:
"Wow… I had no idea racism and Christianity were so deeply connected."
Sir.
With respect.
Where have you been?
Because Black folks have known this since the first Bible came wrapped in chains.

Let's start with a historical fact that still makes people uncomfortable: the Slave Bible was real.
Not a metaphor. Not an exaggeration. An actual Bible edited specifically for enslaved Africans. Large portions removed. Entire books gone. Anything referencing liberation, resistance, or God siding with the oppressed? Deleted.
Exodus? Gone.Galatians 3:28? Gone.Anything that might make enslaved people think, "Wait a minute…"…
