Household food gardens, improved access to markets, climate-resilient agriculture and the promotion of indigenous foods are among the key proposals emerging from consultations on South Africa’s National Food and Nutrition Security Plan (NFNSP) 2025–2033 in Capricorn District, Polokwane. Stakeholders are calling for practical solutions that address food shortages, improve dietary diversity and strengthen local food systems across Limpopo. The discussions focus on ensuring that households can access sufficient, safe and nutritious food while supporting sustainable agricultural production. Participants are also highlighting the need to address infrastructure gaps that limit food production, storage, distribution and access to markets. Their contributions will help shape a more inclusive and responsive national plan that reflects the everyday challenges and priorities of communities across the province.
