Having a seasonal drink fixation is undeniably a part of modern life. (Prove me wrong!) Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Spindrift’s Cranberry Punch.

Made with a mix of cranberry-, grapefruit-, orange-, and lemon juice, this sparkling water is tart and tangy, refreshing pretty much every hour of the day, and a beautiful fuchsia color. And did I mention it’s a great mixer? The fruit juice in the cranberry-forward drink makes it ideal for a variety of cocktails — particularly a super-autumnal highball I’ve been treating myself to as an after-work sip.

A Spindrift highball is super easy to make, and gorgeous on its own; the magenta hue of the sparkling water looks great in pretty much any glass.

The drink is also endlessly customizable, which makes it fun for a party — especially for booze nerds. Spindrift Cranberry Punch pairs well with a variety of whiskeys, including bourbon, and guests can mix up their own iteration of the cocktail depending on their liquor preference. Gin and rum would certainly work too, and mezcal can add a smoky note for a rustic autumnal twist.

For hosting, the two-ingredient drink is easy to serve guests on demand or to set up as a station with cans, whiskey, ice cubes, and glasses. To amp it up a level, add some fun garnishes to the cocktail. Ice cubes with fresh cranberries frozen in them look great, and the drink can be garnished with fresh sprigs of rosemary or thyme, citrus wedges, or even a cinnamon stick. Sober folks can also enjoy the sparkler with a non-alcoholic spirit or just by dressing up a glass of Spindrift on the rocks.

One 12-ounce Spindrift can yields two cocktails, so it’s perfect to share and feels more affordable than purchasing various mixers like sodas and juices. Plus, the can is cute! No ugly bevs in holiday pictures with this one.

Highballs are some of the easiest cocktails to make, as they’re built in the glass. All you need is the sparkling water, liquor, and ice, plus a bar spoon or straw to stir. The classic ratio for highballs is 2 ounces of whiskey to 4 ounces of chilled soda water, but just 1 ounce of whiskey is fine (also ideal if you’re planning to have more than one).

To make the drink, fill a highball glass or any tall glass with ice. Add the whiskey, top off with Spindrift, give the drink a slight stir, garnish, and it’s ready. Cheers!
