Federal regulators have tentatively approved Puerto Rico's updated drinking water regulations, and the clock is now running on the only formal chance the public gets to object. The Environmental Protection Agency published its determination on Wednesday, and any request for a public hearing must reach EPA Region 2 on or before October 9, 2026.
