House Bill Proposes $10 Billion for Fusion Energy as China’s ENN Breaks Ground on a Hydrogen-Boron Device

A bipartisan group of House members introduced legislation on Sept. 24 that would put $10 billion in direct federal investment behind efforts to commercialize fusion energy, as competition with China over the technology sharpens. The American Leadership in Fusion Act is led by House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), with Reps. Lori Trahan (D-Mass.), Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.), Don Beyer (D-Va.) and James Gallagher (R-Calif.) as co-sponsors, according to Trahan's office.
