Manchester City closed the gap on leaders Arsenal with a commanding 3-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side were electrified by a half-time team-talk, with Nico O’Reilly and Marc Guehi scoring in a six-minute blitz after the break.
Jeremy Doku sealed the win, setting up a crucial showdown against Arsenal at the Etihad next weekend.
City’s win comes after Arsenal’s shock 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth, leaving them six points clear with a game in hand.
Guardiola’s team are hitting top form, having beaten Arsenal in the League Cup final and thrashing Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have won just one of their last seven games, losing three in a row under Liam Rosenior.
The Blues face questions after a disjointed performance, trailing Liverpool by four points in the top-five race after the Reds put Fulham away 2-0 at Anfield on Saturday.
Rio Ngumoha and Mohamed Salah found the back of the net for Arne Slot’s side who will need more of the same in midweek if they are to even think of overturning a 2-0 Champions League quarter-final deficit against PSG.
