For the last few days, I have been reading Incognito by David Eagleman. One idea stayed with me long after I closed the book. He calls it the prefrontal workout.

The idea is simple. Your brain is not one voice. It is many voices inside you, speaking at the same time.

  • Some want comfort.
  • Some want progress.
  • Some want pleasure right now.
  • Some want a better tomorrow.

A few weeks ago, I faced this myself. I had planned a long run the next morning. But the night before, I kept scrolling reels. My mind told me, “Just 10 more minutes.” It was such a small moment, but I could feel two parts of me fighting.

One part wanted rest. One part wanted comfort. That small fight is exactly where this workout begins.

I am sure you have heard the story of the two wolves inside the head. That’s what this is about.

That’s where the idea of a prefrontal workout comes in.
