Limpopo MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development Basikopo Makamu is continuing his departmental meet-and-greet programme as part of an effort to strengthen engagement with officials and better understand agricultural operations across the province. Accompanied by Head of Department Mpho Mashamba, Makamu began the latest leg of his programme at the Towoomba Research Station, where he met directly with staff and gained insight into the facility’s day-to-day operations. The engagement forms part of a broader roadshow focused on connecting departmental leadership with employees working across different levels of the agriculture and rural development sector. By visiting facilities and offices rather than relying only on formal meetings, the MEC is creating opportunities for direct discussions about operational realities. The initiative comes as Limpopo continues working to strengthen rural development, agricultural production and food security.
