Family members of victims of the Sharpeville Massacre will stage a silent walk of witness to the events of 21 March 1960, when at least 91 people were killed and 238 people wounded by police who opened fire on the crowd of 5 000 peaceful protestors who had gathered to protest against pass laws that required Black South Africans to carry pass books.
