THE FUSE

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will host a major Youth in Agriculture engagement on Thursday, 24 June 2026, as part of Youth Month commemorations. The initiative aims to place young farmers at the centre of agricultural development conversations in the province. It will highlight their role in strengthening food security and driving rural economic activity. The event reflects a growing focus on youth participation in agriculture as a long-term solution to unemployment and food production challenges. It also demonstrates how provincial programmes are supporting young people to enter farming with practical tools and opportunities.
