South African singer Naledi Aphiwe has touched the hearts of many after sharing an emotional message dedicated to her late mother on social media.
The young star took to Instagram to honour her mother, whose birthday was on 7 June. Naledi posted photos of herself visiting her mother’s burial site and reflected on the pain of losing a parent while celebrating the memories they shared.
In her heartfelt post, she wrote: “Yesterday was your birthday, Mom, and today I came to visit you. Standing here brings back so many memories, and it reminds me just how much I miss you. There are days when I try to be strong, but the truth is that a part of my heart left with you.”
Naledi continued to express how much she wishes she could spend one more moment with her mother.
“I wish I could sit with you one more time, hear your voice, tell you about my day, and get one of your warm hugs.”
The singer also opened up about the progress she has made in her career since her mother’s passing. She revealed that she has been working hard to achieve her dreams and make her mother proud.
“Life has changed so much, Mom. I’ve been working hard, pushing through challenges, and trying to make you proud every single day. I secured the bag, Mom. I landed big deals with Stumbo, and all I wanted was to tell you first.”
Naledi said that every achievement feels incomplete because she can no longer share those special moments with her mother. However, she believes that her mother continues to watch over her and guide her through life’s challenges.
“Every win feels incomplete because I can’t share it with you the way I used to. But deep down, I believe you’re watching over me, celebrating every achievement and guiding me through every difficult times.”
She ended her message with touching words of love and gratitude.
“Keep watching over me, Mom. I love you, I miss you, and I’ll make you proud every single day.”
Naledi’s mother passed away in August 2022 at the age of 50, leaving behind a daughter determined to honour her memory through her success.
The singer has recently been celebrating a major milestone after securing a partnership with the candy and bubblegum brand Stumbo. She has been actively sharing content from the collaboration on social media.
Back in April 2026, Naledi addressed rumours that her deal with the brand had fallen through. Dismissing the speculation, she confidently wrote: “They thought it was over I’m literally securing the Stumbo deal. Haters were loud now the deal is louder.”
As her career continues to grow, Naledi’s latest tribute shows that while she is achieving new successes, she still carries her mother’s memory with her every step of the way.
