THE FUSE

The Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening farmer development, agricultural commercialisation and household food security across the province. The commitment was highlighted during the Department’s two-day Strategic Planning Session held at Ku-Gompo City. The session focused on strengthening the implementation of key agricultural initiatives that can support food security and economic growth through resource mobilisation and comprehensive support. The discussions placed attention on the practical conditions farmers need to build productive and financially sustainable agricultural enterprises. By focusing on finance, partnerships and better use of public resources, the Department is seeking to create stronger foundations for agricultural development in the Eastern Cape.
