THE FUSE

Johannesburg, widely known as the City of Gold, has long been associated with ambition, movement and opportunity. Its skyline, busy streets and contrasting neighborhoods reflect a city shaped by many different communities and experiences. Now, South African creative project Khazimula is turning its attention away from the familiar images of Johannesburg and toward the people who give the city its character. The new song “Joburg City” offers a warm and uplifting celebration of everyday life, diversity, resilience and human connection. Rather than presenting Johannesburg as a perfect city, the track embraces its complexity and encourages listeners to recognize the value that already exists within it.
