Actress and philanthropist Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa is celebrating a special achievement after receiving an award for her work through the We Care Foundation South Africa.

The award recognises the impact of the foundation’s efforts in addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and social inequalities in communities across South Africa. Enhle shared the exciting news with her followers on Instagram, posting a photo of herself proudly holding the award.

Reflecting on the recognition, she expressed her gratitude and dedication to the cause.

“Honoured. Grateful. Inspired. Today, I am humbled to receive this award in recognition of the work we do through the Enhle Care foundation now @wecarefoundationsa in the fight against Gender-Based Violence. (and now societal inequalities)

This recognition is not about one person-it belongs to every survivor who has found the courage to speak, every volunteer who has given their time, every supporter who has believed in our mission, and every community that continues to stand against violence and injustice.

The work is often difficult, emotional, and far from over, but moments like these remind us why we continue.

Every life touched, every conversation started, and every person empowered is a step towards a safer and more compassionate society.

Thank you for recognising our commitment to creating change. We accept this award with gratitude and with a renewed determination to continue the work that matters.

Together, we can build a future where dignity, safety, and hope belong to everyone.”

The award comes just weeks after Enhle took part in another meaningful initiative aimed at helping young people. The actress recently visited Trinity Secondary School as part of a mission led by the We Care Foundation. During the visit, she focused on motivating and supporting learners while listening to the challenges they face.

Speaking about the initiative, Enhle highlighted the foundation’s commitment to making a difference in schools.

“The We Care Foundation begins a journey in assisting schools – not only to motivate and inspire our children, but to listen, understand and assist where we can,” she shared.

She also drew attention to the challenges many schools face due to limited resources.

“Too many schools are trying to shape future leaders with little to no financial support, and yet the passion of both educators and learners remains extraordinary,” she added.

Enhle further explained why supporting young people is so important to the foundation’s mission.

“We believe confidence can change the direction of a child’s life. Sometimes all a young person needs is to be seen, encouraged and reminded that their dreams are valid no matter where they come from.”

The award serves as recognition of the work being done by Enhle, the We Care Foundation, volunteers and supporters who continue to help build safer and more hopeful communities across the country.
