Paystack quietly acquired Nigerian fintech Allawee and is now shutting it down to build something bigger

Paystack did not announce when it bought Allawee. It did not issue a press release or hold a briefing. The first most customers heard of the acquisition was an email telling them their accounts would stop working on December 1, 2026.
