In the months leading up to Pokémon Pokopia, there was a lot of speculation about whether or not the cozy life sim game takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of the Pokémon world. There are buildings that look like dilapidated Pokémon Centers, humans are seemingly gone, and it’s been long enough since Pokémon saw them that Professor Tangela is surprised to see a human when the player shows up looking like one.
