THE FUSE

The Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA) held a focused Agriculture Sector Intervention programme in Mbombela aimed at supporting women farmers and expanding inclusive participation in the agricultural economy. The initiative placed strong emphasis on empowerment for women, youth and persons with disabilities who are active or entering the farming sector. It brought together agricultural stakeholders to share resources, knowledge and practical support tools that can improve productivity at local level. The programme also reinforced the importance of agriculture as a driver of rural livelihoods and household food security in Mpumalanga Province. It created a platform for direct engagement between government and farmers to strengthen long term cooperation.
