THE FUSE

Following the damage caused by the May 2026 storms, Minister Willie Aucamp will meet with affected farmers and local authorities in the Eastern Cape on Friday, 18 September 2026. The visit will focus on assessing the extent of the damage experienced by farmers and understanding the challenges they continue to face. The assessment is expected to provide government with a clearer picture of the impact of the storms on agricultural activities and farming operations. It will also help determine the type of government support required to assist affected farmers with their recovery efforts.
