THE FUSE

After decades of hearing about this in my consultation room and experiencing this in my own life, I must say that the mother-daughter relationship is clearly extremely complicated. It is complicated for both mothers and for daughters and for those around them who experience the tension and the joy as well as the closeness and the conflict. I have not met a single mother or daughter who described their relationship as easy, despite often describing the relationship as close and even loving.
