Luyanda Zwane Remembers Acting on Stage at 14

Actress Luyanda Zwane has taken a heartfelt trip down memory lane, sharing a special moment from the beginning of her acting journey. The talented star posted an old video of herself performing on stage when she was just 14 years old and in Grade 9, reminding fans that every dream starts somewhere.
The video captured a young Luyanda confidently acting on stage during her high school years, long before she became one of South Africa’s rising stars on television and streaming platforms. Looking back at the moment, she reflected on how far she has come since then.
She captioned the video, “I was 14 years of age here, doing Grade 9 at @kingsway_high_school. I performed from the bottom of my soul, literally did I know that at 22 I’d be a global actress… wow. God is in the small details, always try connect the dots.”
Her inspiring message resonated with many of her followers, as it highlighted the importance of staying committed to a dream even when the future is uncertain. Luyanda’s journey is proof that years of dedication and passion can lead to incredible opportunities.
Since making her television debut, Luyanda has steadily built an impressive acting career. She made her first television appearance in 2022, playing the role of Lele in the Durban Gen series on e.tv. In 2023, she portrayed Nomonde Gumede in the BET Africa telenovela Redemption. She also appeared as Phumzile in the Showmax series Outlaws and played Aphiwe Ndima in the Netflix short film Miseducation.
More recently, Luyanda has received praise for her role as Lindani Mbatha in the Netflix production The Polygamist, a performance that has further established her as one of the country’s promising young actresses.
In another social media post, Luyanda celebrated the different roles she has portrayed throughout her career by sharing photos of the characters she has brought to life.
