Khoi Tech Chosen for National AI Readiness Accelerator Programme. South African technology company Khoi Tech has been selected to participate in the Disraptor AI Readiness Accelerator, a six month programme designed to prepare high potential small and medium enterprises for the future of artificial intelligence.
The announcement was made at a gala dinner in Pretoria, where Khoi Tech was named one of ten companies chosen from hundreds of applicants across the country. The event marked the official launch of the accelerator and brought together founders, industry leaders, and strategic partners supporting the initiative.
Khoi Tech was represented at the event by its Founder and Chief Executive Officer Seati Moloi, alongside Chief Marketing Officer Thato Mangwegape. They joined representatives from the nine other selected companies recognised during the evening.
The keynote address was delivered by Telkom Group Chief Digital Officer Sello Ranku, who highlighted the importance of investment in digital capability. He said that supporting the digital sector helps safeguard future livelihoods while laying the foundation for innovation, and noted Telkom’s involvement in the AI Catalyst Growth Programme with its partners.
VIP delegates at the gala included representatives from the British High Commission, Telkom Future Makers, Telkom Foundation, Disraptor, and programme partners. Among those present were Mike Foster, John Humphrey, Dr Mmaki Jantjies, Tshepo Phetla, Batlile Phaladi, Mohammed Hasnain Motlekar, Judy Vilakazi, Thembi Mafunda, Nozimanga Madubane, Milisa Mavundla, Mvelo Ngoma, Malloron Nair and Hermansu Keeka.
The AI Readiness Accelerator, run by Disraptor, follows a structured six month process aimed at strengthening the technical and strategic capacity of participating companies. The programme includes recruitment and onboarding, cloud modernisation, analytics and dashboard development, data and AI strategy, data platform development, technical due diligence, and founder wellness support. Each of the ten selected companies also received a new laptop to support productivity during the programme.
Khoi Tech is known for products such as the Khoi Afriwatch1 smartwatch and Khoi Afripods true wireless earphones, as well as delivering technology based solutions through devices, software applications, and software as a service platforms.
Moloi said the accelerator would support the company’s vision of building an integrated health technology ecosystem using artificial intelligence to deliver proactive solutions across multiple sectors. He said the company aims to apply data driven innovation to improve health outcomes, workplace productivity, safety, and wellness, while strengthening its position within South Africa’s growing technology sector and contributing to long term digital transformation efforts nationwide.
