Animal book covers are nothing new. This is especially true for children’s books and for comics. But in the last several years, we’ve seen an uptick in the number of kitties, both domestic and wild, gracing the front of a wide range of adult novels. While some of this is thanks to the growth in translated Japanese and Korean fiction making its way into the U.S. market, cats are making their mark as purr-fect cover models in 2026 across a range of fictional styles.
