Kaizer Chiefs eyeing top spot in the Betway Premiership

Kaizer Chiefs face a tricky opening fixture against newly-promoted Kruger United, who will be making their debut in the top flight.
Having finished third last season, Amakhosi come into the match high on confidence, hoping to get off to a winning start. New head coach Fernando Da Cruz has already made several high-profile signings as he looks to strengthen his team.
The Mpumalanga-based side will lean on the experience of seasoned players, including Rwandan international goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, currently on loan from Amakhosi.
Ntwari will be in goals for Kruger United as they look to upset favourites Kaizer Chiefs. The experienced keeper joined the club in 2024 but only played fewer than 10 matches before he was benched.
Amakhosi are coming off a productive pre-season in Spain. After filling up the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace last Sunday during the Toyota Cup against Zimbabwe’s Scottland FC, Amakhosi supporters will have another opportunity to see their side in action, this time at the Mbombela Stadium.
Kaizer Chiefs aiming for perfect start
Under the guidance of coach Fernando Da Cruz, Chiefs will be aiming to start the season with a victory against the newcomers. A win will put the Glamour Boys top of the Betway Premiership especially if they score goals.

After the Betway Premiership match, Kaizer Chiefs will turn attention to Golden Arrows in the MTN8.
