Hampshire T20 captain James Vince has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The 34-year-old former England batter has played his entire career for the county.

He is the all-time leading run-scorer in the T20 Blast, as well as leading the all-time batting charts in The Hundred with Southern Brave.

"I'm really pleased to be back with Hampshire for another year. This club has been a massive part of my life, and I'm as motivated as ever to keep performing and pushing for more silverware," he said.

Since making his debut in the Blast in 2010, Vince has hit five centuries in the competition.

He has won the competition on three occasions in 2010, 2012 and 2022 and led the Hawks to final last season, when they were beaten by Somerset at Edgbaston.

Vince has also represented the Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League, Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers in Australia's Big Bash League, Auckland, Paarl Rocks, in South Africa, and Gulf Giants in the International League T20.

He earned 13 Test, 25 one-day international and 17 T20 caps for England, hitting one century.
