Jurgen Klopp has reportedly agreed to take over as Real Madrid manager and is ready to bring in one of Barcelona’s top transfer targets.

Real Madrid have had a difficult season. Xabi Alonso was sacked in January after losing the Spanish Super Cup final to Barcelona. Alvaro Arbeloa was then appointed as his replacement, but it remains unclear if he will stay beyond the season.

Reports from Spain suggest Klopp is very interested in becoming the new Real Madrid manager. He is also said to be keen on signing Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck. The German defender recently signed a new deal with Dortmund but included a release clause of between 50 million and 60 million euros.

Schlotterbeck is said to prioritise a move to Real Madrid over Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona. Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are both expected to leave Real Madrid on free transfers in the summer.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently said that current Real Madrid boss Arbeloa could leave the club before the end of the season. Romano added that Klopp is one of the names often discussed internally at Real Madrid, though no concrete steps have been taken yet. The board wants to be sure Klopp is ready to return to daily management before making any decision.
